Here at Bronsky Orthodontics, we believe every child deserves to have a beautiful smile, and we don’t want family financial challenges to stand in the way of orthodontic treatment.
That is why we are excited to announce the recent launch of the Smile for a Lifetime Manhattan Chapter, which is run from our office. Smile for a Lifetime Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps provide free treatment to children between ages 11 and 18 who otherwise may not have the opportunity to undergo orthodontic treatment. In New York City, families who have children in need of treatment but are in tough financial situations can reach out to us.
We have our board of directors in place, which will hold its first meeting May 1. Now we need your help. We need your nominations for treatment candidates.
“We are excited to get this program up and rolling,” Dr. Mark Bronsky says. “We’ve been getting everything in order since last year, and we are now at the point of being able to start treating children in need.”
Candidates for treatment will be reviewed by the board of directors, which is made up of general dentists, school counselors, teachers and other community professionals. The goal is to treat six patients per year.
This isn’t our first time offering complimentary treatment to those in need. Our practice has provided complimentary treatment to patients from the New York Presbyterian Hospital Dentofacial Deformities Program for years.
Participating in the Smile for a Lifetime program gives us an opportunity to lend a helping hand to an additional population segment in need, Dr. Bronsky says.
Smile for a Lifetime Foundation began in 2008. It sponsors the orthodontic care of hundreds of patients each year through local chapters. In the case of our chapter, Dr. Bronsky is sponsoring the scholarship recipients by providing his expertise and all orthodontic supplies necessary for treatment. We are proud to be part of a network of orthodontists from throughout the United States and Canada helping to make a difference in children’s lives.v
