Orthodontic Treatment for Kids
Setting Smiles Up for a Lifetime
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your children should have an initial evaluation by the age of 7. That’s the optimal age to evaluate their skeletal development and identify the position of their permanent teeth. If there are any jaw bone development problems, called “malocclusions,” they can be treated or modified a lot more easily beginning at this time and going forward.

Unique
Needs and Care
Each child’s needs are unique. For some, it’s best to begin treatment before all of their permanent teeth have come in – this is called Phase I, or Interceptive Treatment. For others, it makes more sense to wait until the permanent teeth are fully erupted and the roots are completely formed.
Our team will give you an expert opinion with an initial evaluation and let you know your best options. We can guide you all along the way in whatever you may need.

In Good Time
We diagnose your child’s inherent growth pattern and plan a natural improvement of the growth to create the most optimal foundations for them. Evaluating and treating their particular issues in a timely manner is important because it will improve the stability, function, and esthetics of their results while helping prevent problems down the road.
Beginning with a proper evaluation will help us create a seamless treatment process as needed with periodic monitoring.
Sometimes treatment has to take place over two distinct periods. This is called Two-Phase Orthodontic Treatment, and it’s a highly effective way to achieve a beautiful new smile.
