Founder of Bronsky Orthodontics and Board Certified Orthodontist, Mark has created the most advanced practice in NYC for his patients. He leads our team of highly accomplished doctors and expert technicians serving kids and adults of all ages. He is also a proud Dad, New York native, and a big rock & roll fan.

Dr. Mark J. Bronsky is a Board Certified Orthodontist and the founder of Bronsky Orthodontics NYC. He was born and raised in his beloved home town of Binghamton, New York, where he graduated in 1979 from Binghamton Central High School (a proud “BCHS Bulldog”). While attending BCHS, he participated in Varsity Tennis, STHA Ice Hockey, Key Club, Yearbook, Mathletes, and also served as the Sports Editor of the school newspaper, Panorama, before setting off on the educational journey that led him to where he is today. 

Dr. Bronsky graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology. While at Trinity, Dr. Bronsky participated in endocrinology research, studying the effects of various steroid hormones on brain development under the direction of Professor J.E. Simmons, PhD. Additionally, Dr. Bronsky found time to play Junior Varsity LaCrosse, take Jazz piano lessons, and further pursue his musical passion by planning and producing Jazz and Rock & Roll shows on campus, including the 1983 Spring Weekend featuring the band U2. As a senior at Trinity, Dr. Bronsky was a semi-finalist in the Rhodes Scholarship competition.

Following his graduation from Trinity, Dr. Bronsky pursued his Dental education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry (UAB), where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree (Salutatorian of his class) with the distinction of being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. Throughout his time at UAB, Dr. Bronsky participated in endocrinology research, studying the role of bone phosphoproteins in the bone mineralization process. Dr. Bronsky was President of the UAB School of Dentistry Student Government, appointed to the UAB College of Presidents, and was a special appointee to the UAB Presidential Search Committee. 

Upon graduation from UAB, Dr. Bronsky was accepted into the world-renowned Orthodontic Residency Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics, where he earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science Degree (MS) in Endocrinology. Portions of his thesis were published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and the Journal of Endocrinology. Under the auspices of Dr. William R. Proffit, DDS, PhD -Dr. Bronsky’s Chief Professor, Orthodontic Chairman, Thesis advisor and mentor -  he undertook a post-residency fellowship in Europe. While overseas, Dr. Bronsky lectured at a multitude of orthodontic programs, presenting seminars on the results of his master’s thesis as well as the application of contemporary techniques in surgical/orthodontic therapy. Additionally, Dr. Bronsky seized the opportunity to study European-style principles of growth modification in the clinical treatment of pediatric and developing patients. Dr. Bronsky enjoyed the trip of a lifetime visiting orthodontic residencies in the countries of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Ireland, Germany, and Switzerland.

After extensive education and travel, Dr. Bronsky followed his heart back home to New York. Since 1990, Dr. Bronsky has worked to develop his private practice of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics while serving as a clinical attending/professor at several hospitals in the greater Metropolitan New York area including Lenox Hill/Northwell Health Systems, The New York Presbyterian Hospital, and The Mount Sinai Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Bronsky has donated his time and expertise in collaboration with other specialists in the treatment of patients with craniofacial disharmonies. Up to and including the present, Dr. Bronsky continues to strive to make his mark in the field of orthodontics.

In 1999, Dr. Bronsky achieved the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, presenting his most difficult cases to the American Board Examiners while meeting the most stringent ABO requirements. In 2001, Dr. Bronsky achieved the honor of being inducted into the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a group committed to lifelong education in the art and science of orthodontics. While most inductees are full-time academicians, Dr. Bronsky earned his spot through six years of advanced study that included clinical case presentations and original research involving growth modification of young patients as well as research in the aesthetic effects of orthodontics on the human face. At this time, Dr. Bronsky is the only private practitioner in New York City that is a member of the Angle Society. In 2012, Dr. Bronsky was invited to become a Fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD), the oldest major honorary organization for dentists, with its mission focusing on the “advancement of excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry.” Dr. Bronsky currently serves as a member of the Board of the American College of Dentists, New York Chapter. Additionally, in 2025, Dr. Bronsky was inducted into the International College of Dentists, a global organization that recognizes “outstanding achievement and meritorious service, while advocating for humanitarian and educational initiatives.”

Dr. Bronsky continues to pursue his passion for dentistry and orthodontics for the benefit of the New York dental community. Since 2000, Dr. Bronsky has been an active member of the oldest dental study group in New York, The New York Academy of Dentistry (NYAD), founded in 1921. He has served on several boards at the NYAD and has held numerous leadership positions, culminating in his service as the NYAD President during the 2022-2023 academic year. His commitment extends beyond his private practice and out into the community, where he contributes his time, skills, and expertise in a variety of ways. He has served as a member of the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell Medical Center Craniofacial Anomalies/Dentofacial Deformities Program for over 30 years and serves as a voluntary attending doctor. He is also a member of the NextGenFace® (NGF) Cleft and Craniofacial Team at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell Health Systems. There, he is not only a member of the NGF Board, but also the team orthodontist, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a vast array of craniofacial disharmonies.

Dr. Bronsky finds great satisfaction and fulfillment through his roles in changing people’s lives through his work. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Jodi; being an active dad to their two sons, Jack and Mick; participating in various forms of exercise; reading books on a wide variety of subjects; and immersing himself in all things Rock & Roll. Dr. Bronsky attends concerts with Jodi and they collect artistic black and white Rock & Roll photos for his home and offices. In addition to the joys of family life, It is - and has always been - Dr. Bronsky’s dream come true to embrace the honor and privilege of practicing orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in New York City.
