What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a great option to straighten your teeth because they use no wires or metal of any kind. Instead, Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners that are designed to be worn in a specific order which slowly moves your teeth. You’ll start your treatment by wearing the first set of aligners for about two weeks. Then, move on to the next set in the series, and continue until you’ve used all the aligners and your teeth have been brought into perfect alignment. Once your treatment is over, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear, knowing that your smile looks amazing and as healthy as can be!

In addition to Invisalign® for adults, we also offer Invisalign® Teen which is designed with teens and parents in mind. With our Invisalign® Teen option, the aligners have been designed specifically to meet the unique needs of teenagers. For instance, there are tiny fading blue dots on the aligners that indicate how long they’ve been worn, this way; parents know if their teen is wearing their Invisalign® aligners as often as they should. There are also unique “eruption tabs” that we can build in to hold space available for adult teeth that are still coming in.

With regular braces, you’ll have to spend quite a bit of time carefully brushing and flossing around all those bands, brackets, and wires on your teeth.
• There’s nothing present that can irritate your mouth and gums because Invisalign® aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable plastic material.
• The aligners can also work as a type of mouthguard to protect your teeth at night if you tend to grind your teeth when asleep.
• You won’t have to visit your Tribeca orthodontist as frequently as you would if you wore conventional braces because there is nothing to tighten or adjust with Invisalign®.
