• Born August 11, 1961 in Binghamton, New York.
• 1979: Graduated from Binghamton Central High School (a proud “Bulldog”), participating in Varsity Tennis, STHA Ice Hockey, Key Club, Yearbook, Mathletes, and served as the Sports Editor of the school Newspaper, Panorama.
• 1983: Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Science/Honors in Biology. While at Trinity, Dr. Bronsky participated in endocrinology research on the effects of various steroid hormones on brain development. Junior Varsity LaCrosse, ad-hoc producer of U2 concert and Semi-finalist in the Rhodes Scholarship competition.
• 1987: Graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry as salutatorian. Achieved a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree with the distinction of induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon – the National Dental Honor Society. Throughout his time at UAB, Dr. Bronsky participated in endocrinology research, studying the role of bone phosphoproteins in the bone mineralization process. Dr. Bronsky was President of the UAB School of Dentistry Student Government, appointee to the UAB College of Presidents, and a special appointee to the UAB presidential search committee.
• 1989: Earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science Degree (MS) in Endocrinology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Portions of his master’s thesis were published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral and the Journal of Endocrinology.
• 1990: Spent a fellowship year in Europe studying and lecturing at a multitude of orthodontic programs (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Ireland, Germany and Switzerland) under the auspices of William R. Proffit, DDS, PhD, Dr. Bronsky’s Professor/Chairman at UNC, thesis advisor and mentor.
• 1999: Achieved the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics culminating nine years of study and patient care with the presentation of some of his most difficult cases to the American Board Examiners. Dr. Bronsky did the Boards the “hard way” with the most stringent requirements.
• 2006: Earned induction into the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists – a group committed to lifelong education in the art and science of orthodontics. Dr. Bronsky is the only orthodontist in Manhattan to be inducted into the Angle Society that is not a full- or part-time academician. His entry was the culmination of six years of advanced study including clinical case presentations and original research investigating the aesthetic effects of orthodontics on the human face.
• 2012:  Elected to membership of the American College of Dentists and inducted as a “Fellow of the American College of Dentists” (F.A.C.D) in San Francisco.  The Mission of the American College of Dentists is to “…advance excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry”. Founded in 1920, the ACD is the oldest major honorary organization for dentists.  According to the ACD website:  “Its members have exemplified excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society”.  Dr. Bronsky looks forward to positively contributing to the ACD and all that it offers to the dental profession.

Dr. Michele J. Equinda is a Board Certified Orthodontist. Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Equinda attended Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate studies where she majored in Neuroscience and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. After her time in Nashville, she returned home to New York to pursue a role as a research technician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where she co-authored numerous published scientific journal articles. Through her research on oral and intestinal microbiota, Dr. Equinda became fascinated by the link between oral and systemic health, which further confirmed her desire to become a dentist. She obtained her doctorate degree from New York University College of Dentistry where she graduated as the Female who Achieved the Highest Academic Excellence in her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Equinda went on to earn her Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science degree in Oral Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry where she defended her thesis titled “Assessment of Response to Rapid Maxillary Expansion in Pediatric Sleep-Disordered Breathing.” Dr. Equinda further exemplified her commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in patient care by achieving the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

From Music City, to the Windy City, and back to New York City, Dr. Equinda is grateful to be home in the Big Apple. She strives to immerse herself in the community in which she lives and works. Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Equinda exercising, trying out new restaurants, and spending time outdoors whenever possible. She has had the privilege of studying, volunteering her dental services, and traveling for pleasure across multiple continents and hopes to continue to expand on that trend. Dr. Equinda’s greatest joy is watching her patients’ confidence grow as their smiles do.

Her soundtrack? The Boss, Billy Joel, and country music.

Dr. Jamie Silverberg, our newest associate, is a Board Certified Orthodontist. Originally from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Dr. Silverberg attended Washington University in St. Louis where she graduated with College Honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a pre-medicine focus. While at WashU, she participated in pediatric oncology research at the Medical School, graduating a semester early to continue this research full-time. On campus, she was inducted into both the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honor Society. In addition to her scholarship, she was an NCAA ITA All-American tennis player, Capital One Academic All-American, and captain of the WashU Women’s Varsity Tennis Team.

Dr. Silverberg obtained her DMD at the University of Pennsylvania where she was a Dean’s Academic Scholarship recipient and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She was also one of three students selected to be in the UPenn Orthodontic Honors Program and a member of the prestigious Matthew Cryer Honor Society, the highest scholastic honor conferred to the top 10% of the class. Dr. Silverberg remained at UPenn to complete her orthodontic residency and recently graduated with her certificate in orthodontics, where she received the Jerome H. Sklaroff award in recognition of excellence in scholarship and leadership.

Throughout her dental education, Dr. Silverberg has contributed to research in the field of craniofacial orthodontics. Specifically, she has studied the Epithelial Splicing Regulatory Protein and its role in cleft lip/palate and has helped to generate specific orthodontic and oral surgery treatment guidelines to treat patients with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which were presented and published at the ‘2023 Oral Health Quality of Life 4 OI Annual Meeting’ in Amsterdam. She is also an active member of both the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Silverberg loves working together with her patients to help establish functional, healthy, and confident smiles. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, backpacking/hiking, running, and spending time with her family and cat DeeDee.
